Manager (Risk, Management and Futures), (Corporate Planning and Management Department)

Responsibilities

The Risk, Management and Futures (RMF) team covers a broad range of work, ranging from futures scanning and insights, futures research, strategic risk management, performance management and strategic planning.

The work you may be required to undertake as an RMF officer includes:

  • Collating and assessing inputs from departments relating to MOM’s corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or strategic Key Risk indicators (KRIs)
  • Research on future trends which may impact the workforce, with a view to articulate the implications on MOM’s work today
  • Supporting MOM departments in building a future-oriented mindset or capabilities (e.g. predictive analytics) amongst MOM officers
  • Engaging start-ups, social enterprises, incubators and other non-government entities to develop third-party solutions that will support MOM’s strategic objectives or service delivery to the public
  • Developing policy games to engage key internal and external stakeholders and raise understand and buy-in for MOM policies
  • Building a network of contacts and resources amongst the futures community, which may include futures units in other agencies, academics and think-tanks




Requirements

  • Self-motivated and independent worker
  • Good writing and communications skills
  • Curious and sensitive to new and relevant developments in the manpower landscape
  • Able to analyse trends and data to formulate practical applications for new knowledge
  • Team player who can work with others from varying backgrounds to find common ground and generate ideas that are win-win and support MOM’s work 
  • Can manage ambiguity and have an adventurous spirit and can-do attitude
