Lead / Senior Lead, Resource Development (Energy & Utilities)

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, is responsible for strategies that enhance Singapore’s position as a global centre for business, innovation, and talent. We undertake investment promotion and industry development, and work with international businesses, both foreign and local, by providing information, connection to partners and access to government incentives for their investments in Singapore. In the Resource Development Division (Energy & Utilities), you will have the opportunity to understand the resource needs of industry and develop the right solutions to ensure its long term competitiveness. This includes working with the key decision makers in companies and other government agencies to develop policies that promote competitive and sustainable use of resources such as energy and water, as well as reducing waste.

As a Lead / Senior Lead, your responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

  • Perform rigorous analysis for policy planning and development
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research
  • Explore economic opportunities in circular economy and sustainability
  • Develop, manage and review resource efficiency incentives
  • Prepare comprehensive and succinct policy papers and presentation materials

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:

  • Degree in Economics, Science or Engineering would be preferred, or any other relevant/ related Degrees
  • At least 2 years working experience in a similar or relevant role 
  • An interest in policy formulation, with the willingness to be hands-on to implement policy changes and projects
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize information and conceptualize ideas through creative & logical thinking
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and present the key findings of an analysis to a non-technical audience
  • A good team player who is well organised, patient and persistent, yet willing to consider new ideas
  • Singapore Citizen
